Lou  - 30 -   2011-03-04 03:57:51 Wow! I just adored these products. After just a few days use my skin felt smoother and looked brighter. The cleanser was great - effective, but not drying, and the pump dispenser worked really well, distributing the right amount of product with no mess. The toner (or 'Clarifying Lotion' as Clinique like to call it) had a pretty strong alcohol smell to it and felt cool and slightly tingly on application. But it really did the job, leaving my skin feeling extra clean and polished. The moisturiser was lovely and rich, and again the pump dispenser delivered just the right amount of product. I only used it as a night moisturiser as I prefer an SPF for day-time, but my skin felt so soft and smooth every morning. I really loved these products and will definitely continue to use them.

clinique   2011-03-15 01:21:40 We’re so pleased you adored Clinique 3-Step. Because Clinique is a 100% Fragrance Free brand, no ingredients are ever added to mask a smell. That’s why the Clarifying Lotion smells the way it does. You will find that alcohol is used in most cosmetic products as it acts as a preservative and an anti-bacterial agent. It may just be that you can’t smell the alcohol because something has been added to disguise it. Adding fragrance though can heighten the risk of a reaction. The tingly feeling you get from using Clarifying Lotion is also meant to happen so you’re safe there. As you rightly pointed out, Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion is not a toner, it’s a liquid exfoliator. The tingly feeling means that the product is working on your skin to clear away dead skin cells. It’s also good to know that you can use step 3 in Clinique’s 3-Step System (Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion / Gel) either on its own or underneath a moisturiser that has SPF protection. I especially love the moisturiser. I would definitely recommend this product to people with combination skin, especially teenagers!

Whilst it might seem like a bad sign, it’s actually good because it means that the “gunk” trapped in your pores is emerging to the skins surface. Once the pimples reach the surface, the Clarifying Lotion can then work to sweep away dead skin cells and create the perfect base for ongoing use. Stick with 3-Step to see results both instantly and over time. Instantly: Softer, smoother, more radiant skin Week 1: Healthier, fresher. Less flaky and dull, more even texture. Week 2: More radiant as the cell renewal process begins. Over Time: Drier skin feels more comfortable, oilier skins less prone to breakouts. Fine lines softened.

Marika  - 21 -   2011-03-05 23:04:19 I have always had difficulty finding a skincare regime that actually worked for me. I have very uneven skin tone and combination skin, meaning I often find skincare products either too heavy or too drying. The Clinique 3-Step System has been marvellous. After a few days of use I noticed my skin looking smoother and more even. I even managed to go to work without foundation for one day! The products feel great to put on, the cleanser is not drying at all. The toner has a slight menthol feel to it which I find quite refreshing. And the moisturiser feels really nourishing. I was so chuffed to try these products as I have spent hundreds on products, such as Environ and not been even half as impressed. I am sticking with the Clinique 3-Step System. The toner is a godsend. My only issue was, that my skin type was determined online as Dry Combination, when I think I am probably more an Oily Combination. Because of this, I did suffer a break out in my T-Zone. When I first started using the product, due to the moisturiser being slightly too heavy for my skin. However I am so happy with the products, that I will be buying the Oily Combination moisturiser to try next! I would highly recommend this product, but I would definitely advise you to get your skin type analysed in person at a Clinique beauty counter if you are unsure.

clinique   2011-03-15 01:23:29 Marika you’re absolutely right, the best thing to do is to ask an experienced Clinique consultant for a custom fit skin type analysis. This is a complimentary service offered at all Clinique counters. The breakout you experienced is only natural. This is because skin cells renew every 28 days and in order for a product to work effectively, the “gunk” must first be brought to the surface. With continued use though, you will see improvement in your skin.

Trinity  - 32 -   2011-03-10 22:09:06 I found these products to be really good...I would purchase them again! The only thing I found with my skin is that I need to moisturise before putting my make up on.

Veema  - 25 -   2011-03-10 22:36:19 1. Cleanser: I found the cleanser refreshing. It didn’t burn or sting on application and removed most of my makeup. I usually do a second cleanse just to remove all make up and eye makeup. I felt that the cleanser did not leave my skin feeling tight afterwards. Definitely recommend for people with dry skin type. 2. Exfoliate: I received the clarifying lotion (no. 2 purple bottle). Upon first application I didn’t like it. The menthol in the product actually stings on my skin. However, I found over time that my skin got used to it. The smell was a bit too strong for me. Although it was good at removing traces of makeup residue that the cleanser may have missed. 3. Moisturise Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: I loved this moisturiser. Application felt silky smooth. My skin felt hydrated and it did not dry out. It was calming especially after applying the exfoliate toner. I have noticed the dry patches over the few weeks I have been using it, which has disappeared. My oily areas are a bit oilier than the dry areas (which seem to have become normal). So it is definitely adding more moisture into my skin. I may use a bit less on my T-zone area to balance it out. Overall: I liked that you didn’t have to think about the system. It was simple and 3-Steps covered skin care twice a day. Only down side was the toner, maybe I would try something without menthol in the future. I did more research into the brand and found that you can supplement the Clinique 3-Step System with eye care and day moisturiser with SPF factor in it. However, it is a good starter system for someone wanting to start off in a skincare range or wants a non-complicated but effective skin care range.

Rebecca  - 35 -   2011-03-11 11:13:49 Liquid Soap Mild: Much better than the older style bar soap, skin felt squeaky clean afterwards but not too dry. Need a seperate product to remove makeup though. Exfoliator: Star of the show :-) leaves a tingly menthol feeling but also a dry alcohol feeling. Definitely need the moisturiser after this! Moisturising Lotion: Nice and light, but no SPF for the day and not rich enough for night, so I was using another product on top. Overall, better than when I last used Clinique, 10 years ago, but I am not converted. Would recommend to a teenager or someone with problem/oily skin.

Would absolutely recommend them to people with oily skin and I will be buying them again. I was not so happy with the toner (clarifying lotion) as I found it too strong smelling. Would probably continue with the other two products though.

Jessica  - 24 -   2011-03-13 23:03:30 I would recommend trialling this product before you buy. I have quite sensitive skin, although because it's combination I received the formulation for oily skin. I'm hesitant to make a call on whether this improved my skin because there are so many factors that come into breakouts etc. However, during the four or so weeks I have been using Clinique, I have had very few break-outs. They have taken longer to heal (perhaps because the formulation dries them out. So the skin takes longer to recover). I enjoy using the cleanser and toner, and my face feels very clean afterwards. However, I do find that my skin is often tight even after applying the moisturiser, so I apply rosehip oil regularly. I'll definitely continue to use the brand.

Tavia  - 43 -   2011-03-14 00:38:56 Fantastic! My skin has loved this product! Usually I suffer breakouts, and have a tendancy to pick at them and cause worse problems and scarring. Since using the Clinique 3-Step System, I have had no breakouts and because I have not picked at my skin, the pigmentation scarring is lessening and my skin looks great. The odd time I did pick at my skin, it has not turned red or developed into anything, rather my skin is settled and has healed faster, and left no scar. The cleanser is amazing and removes all makeup better than any I have used prior - when I use the cotton pad and toner there is nothing left to be picked up. The toner really settles my skin, and the moisturiser soaks in quickly and leaves a (wonderfully) smooth, great base for makeup. The product goes a long way, the containers are generous, and the pump system means that you don't use more than you need. I would like to see this pump dispenser system also used for the toner bottles to, as this is being used faster than the rest. I always thought that Clinique was above my price range, and never even queried about it before. However since using the products I have been to the kiosk and found that the price is very (very!) reasonable, especially considering how large the bottles are, how far the product goes...and how well it works. I am completely impressed and would recommend this product, particularly if you have difficult skin. This is the best my skin has probably ever been, in my adult life. It is calm, unblemished and really smooth. I have only one issue, and that is the continued use of ingredients such as sodium laureth sulfate being used - it is time that the beauty industry reformulated to remove anything even remotely considered toxic. I am now torn between really wanting to use organic, natural products on my body and still wanting to get the great results such as I have with Clinique. It is certainly great to remove the stress I had with my face on a daily basis...I am looking foward to seeing how clear my skin is, now that it has a chance to heal properly. In another month or even two months, as I have enough product to continue the regime for that long. Thanks for the opportunity to use this great product :)

Michelle  - 29 -   2011-03-14 00:39:26 I was so excited when I received my Clinique pack, I have always been intrigued by the thought of a skincare "regime", other than soap and moisturiser! The novelty of using the products twice a day though soon wore off, I usually just wash my face in the shower and smother it with Olay...I would have prefered a cream cleanser rather than a foaming one to wash my face at the sink. I loved the face wash, nice and mild, it didn't dry out my skin like some others do. The toner could be a bit harsh, sometimes stinging my skin. But it seemed to clear out the pores on my nose. I did like the moisturiser, nice and smooth not at all sticky - it smelt a bit like Lanolin to me, but I soon got used to it...and a little goes a long way! Very economical! I don't know what the cost of these products are but I suppose you do get value for money, you don't actually need to use a lot. With using them once a day, I would say they would last a good 3 months! I did notice a reduction in the fine lines around my eyes, but whether that was the actual products or wishful thinking...who knows! I do like the Clinique products, they definitely made my skin feel clean and soft. So for that reason I will continue to use them. But to be a convert and to buy...well, I am sitting on the fence with that one!

After using them twice a day for several weeks, my T-zone is far less oily than it was before, and blemishes in those areas have cleared up. I would reccommend it to all people that generally have oily skin.

The cleanser is easy to use and great for the shower as it has an applicator (much simpler than using a soap). I have dry skin and after using the cleanser my skin feels softer and smoother. The toner is great, easy to use and smells nice. The moisturiser is excellent, it absorbs into my skin and is nice and light. I would recommend to my friends as using all 3 steps together has made my skin softer, smoother and less dry.

I loved how the mild liquid facial soap reacted to water to clean my skin without too much sud. The clarifying lotion number 2 was great as the final stage of cleaning and as I have always loved the dramatically different moisturizing lotion, I wasn't disappointed with it's results. Plus, the fact that we were given full sized product was very generous. I hate when you go to try something out and all they give you is 1 to 3 days worth, which you have no idea if it's working or not.

Anneke  - 29 -   2011-03-24 08:26:32 I was stoked to receive full size products to try! Especially from a company like Clinique, who are normally out of my price range. Here's what I thought: Facial soap: I have used this product once in the past and it was good to revisit. A little goes a looong way with this product. Even though the price tag is a little steep, it is definitely worth it, because it lasts so long. Clarifying lotion: I was disappointed, although it does an amazing job at closing your pores and making your skin look good, it stings like billio! I usually have a high pain tolerance, but I had to stop using this. Moisturizing lotion: This left a slightly greasy feeling on my skin. Fine for night time use, but I wouldn't use in the daytime.
