Even the most healthy, never-been-dyed hair can suffer from split ends. FashioNZ's Hair Guru - Steven Tompson of Rodney Wayne tells you how to treat'em...
Dear Steven,
For those of us with extremely thick wirey hair that straighten (with ghds) quite often, what's the best split ends treatment? or moisture boost? Also which shampoo would you recommend?
Hi Melanie,
My recommendation for you would be Kerastase, having just introduced a shampoo care range called Oleo Slim; it would be advisable to begin using this range with a visit to a Kerastase salon to have a in salon ritual, this will smooth your hair and possibly reduce the need to iron your hair quite so often.
If the condition of your hair has been also compromised with colour you may need a product range to boost the protein levels. A consultation to ascertain where to begin with your hair care regime would be advisable to determine a lack of protein or moisture this is an important point in order to help with the restoration of your hair.
One last point a heat protector must be used when ironing in order to avoid any further deterioration of the condition of your hair. Kerastase Thermique or Necture Thermique. Either of these products will activate conditioning properties’ when heat is applied to the hair.
