Guide to Bronzer

Bronzer is an excellent way to give a hint of colour to skin, and is also great to use for contouring. It can be purchased in a number of shades and finishes, in pressed or loose powder, and in gel or cream form.
Powders are generally easier to work with, and are very versatile. Matte bronzer looks very natural and is great for daytime use - consider a shimmery bronzer to wear at night, or for use on the body. Opting for a natural colour is important. If you are pale, avoid bronzers that are dark or orange. Depth of colour can always be built up with multiple applications.
Application is key, so invest in a good quality bronzing brush. Natural bristles in a medium to large size fluffy brush will give you a smooth, flawless finish.
If you use a dewy liquid foundation, it is always a good idea to powder the face first lightly with translucent powder before applying bronzer. This will prevent bronzer from “grabbing” and looking blotchy or muddy. Apply your bronzer carefully to select parts of the face; sweep under the cheekbones and up to the temples in a “C” shape to contour and give a beautiful subtle, sun -kissed look. A little along the hairline will also add dimension to the face.
Bronzer is a great product to tie in the colour of the face and body. Often the décolletage area is darker than the face, and the neck can be quite pale. A light layer of bronzer down the neck can bridge this gap and give a uniform colour. Bronzer can be also be used on the body. Choose a shimmery product to highlight and give skin a lovely sheen.
