Get the Look: Shannon Ryan

Vodafone NZ Music Awards host Shannon Ryan looked stunning at the music awards last week, with a deconstructed side braid and chignon by Nic Apaapa for Fudge and a sultry winged out eye by Smashbox’s Masa Milnovic.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR
As Shannon has short hair, Nic had pre-dyed hair-pieces to match Shannon’s hair colour using a balayage technique.
He then stitched the pieces into her hair to create the illusion of length and extra volume.
If you have naturally long hair, this style is simple to create.
Apply a generous amount of Fudge Hair Putty to wet hair and blow wave dry, scrunching the hair in your hands for a lived-in texture.
Once hair is dry, spray with Fudge Salt Spray for a more separated, grittier texture with volume.
Make a deep side part on the left hand side of the head, and begin a very loose French braid which wraps around the head down to the nape of the neck, again, on the left hand side. Use bobby pins to secure the plait as you take the rest of the hair and wrap into a loose chignon. Pin in place, then tug a few pieces out to make it look less perfect.
Finish with Fudge Hair Cement setting spray for a hold that won’t budge all night, and a generous dose of Fudge Head Shine for a stunning glossy finish.

GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP
Shannon was on stage under the harsh bright lights for a considerable amount of time, which meant she needed the crème de la crème of cosmetics to keep her looking fresh and gorgeous all night long.
Cue Smashbox, the cult-status makeup brand that was created specifically with studio lights and cameras in mind.
Masa started with Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Hydrating to ensure Shannon’s makeup stayed put for the evening, with a gorgeous dewy finish.
Next was the brand new Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation to even out imperfections and create the perfect canvas.
A sweep of Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in Starburst gave Shannon a lit-from-within glow, and Smashbox Eyeshadows in Sable and Blackout were applied to create a smoky winged-out effect.
A touch of Smashbox Lip Tech in Nude, and a slick of Smashbox Limitless Long Wear Lip Gloss in Infinite gave Shannon a picture-perfect pout.
Just before Shannon ran on stage, Masa dusted her face with the new Smashbox Photo Set Finishing Powder to eliminate shine and give the look extra long wear.
