Watermelon, orange, tomato and eggplant. No I’m not reciting my shopping list, but the hottest colours for your pout.
Here are some tips on how to wear them and make them last.
1. Moisturised lips are happy lips. If you want colour to cooperate, you must make sure your lips are hydrated. What happens when you rub foundation into dry skin? It flakes. The same will happen with your lipstick – it will crack on dry lips and look terrible. Try a lip balm like Maybelline New York Baby Lips Lip Balm to keep your smackers in tip top condition.
2. Use a neutral lip pencil to define lips. Don’t worry about matching your lip liner to lipstick. It’s an unnecessary and can look weird when your lipstick starts to fade. Stick to a neutral pencil like Smashbox The Nude Lipliner. It will give you an outline to work with and ensure your lipstick will stay in place and not stray outside the lines.
3. Apply lipstick with a brush to ensure it stays. Think of putting lipstick on with the tube as just scratching the surface. Applying colour with a brush will really get the shade to sink into you skin.
4. After applying colour with a brush, go over your lips with the tube to create a colour that really does ‘POP’.
