Beauty tricks you should know

Sometimes, we Lucky Beauty Writers (LBW’s, patent pending) are privy to tips and tricks from Fabulous Beauty Experts (make-up artists, beauty therapists, dermatologists and all that jazz) that non-LBW’s, well, aren’t.
Some LBW's hoard these tips, but as a chronic over-sharer and general beauty bossy-britches, I love to hand them out to my gorgeous friends and beautiful readers as often as possible.
Without further ado - a few things I’d like you to know:
Don’t moisturise your eyelashes
Ever wondered why your mascara doesn’t seem to quite dry properly, or never has any holding power?
It’s likely because when you moisturised your face, you got product on your lashes. And that keeps your mascara from properly adhering to your lashes and can interfere with how well it works.
Make sure you apply product carefully around your eyes, and if in doubt, a dusting of neutral eyeshadow over your lids tends to mop up excess on your lashes too.
Don’t wear sunscreen at night - for the sake of your pores and poses
You should probably already know that any moisturiser that contains sunscreen is for daytime use only.
It will clog your pores if left on overnight and is all about protecting your face from the elements, not helping to repair it like your night cream (and if you didn’t know, its ok, you do now). But you might not know that you should also skip the sunscreen if you’re hitting the clubs, not just the hay - because that white cast your face gets in photos? That’s sunscreen absorbing the light of a flash.
Go with a sunscreen free moisturiser before doing your party makeup, or, even better, a hydrating primer, that will help your makeup go on smoothly and stay put.
Paint your nails at night
The best way to get a perfect at-home manicure owes less to your technique and more to your timing.
If you paint nails at night (and give them minimum 30 mins to dry before hopping in to bed), then hop in to the shower the next morning and give your feet a gentle scrub, all your little skin-painting accidents with wash off too, leaving your pedicure perfected.
See, isn’t it fun to share the beauty love? Got any beauty tricks of your own you’d like to share? Or pressing beauty questions you’d like answered? Let me know!
