We loved this classsic, elegant look from Christian Lacroix’s fall 09 show –get the look here:

This is a great look to know how to do for those days when you have dirty hair, limited time and need to looking stylish, put together and smokin' hot. We show you how to convert this catwalk trend into a real life look in 5 easy steps...

Our favourite red lippy is the Saints & Sinners Lipstick by Poppy King

Step one
DO NOT attempt to re-create the hairstyle. This is strictly catwalk only. Instead, brush your hair back neatly and secure in a high pony tail and then pin into a voluminous bun (hint: finger tease the hair before you bun it). Make sure all end are pinned in out of sight - you want this bun to be well put together and polished.

Tip: always keep dry shampoo on hand to take care of greasy hair when you don't have time to wash it. It will soak up oil and revive the hair until you can wash it.

Step two
Apply a foundation or tinted moisturiser all over the face with a brush, and conceal under the eyes, around the nose and any blemishes.

Step four
Groom the brows and pencil them in so they are strong and neat. Slightly elongating the line of the brow at each side adds elegance to your look.

Step four
Add a very, very light sweep of bronzer to your cheeks and a sweep of mascara.

Step five

Line the lips (a nude liner is a fabulous investment as will work with all lipsticks) and apply a coat of red lippy, blot and then apply again - there is a great guide to wearing and applying red lipstick here.

See - this look suits all skin tones and hair colours:
