Want some tried-and-true hair care tips? We asked YOU to share your best tips and tricks for keeping your hair in good condition…1) Treat your hair to a professional treatment once a month at your salon. It repairs your hair and leaves you relaxed after a nice head massage!
2) Wear a hat on hot summer days to prevent your hair from drying out.
3) If you don’t have time to wash your hair, sprinkle some talcum powder into the roots of your hair to absorb the oil. This will give you an extra day of clean hair.
4) After a shower, blast your hair with cold water. The cold water after the warm shower will make your hair look shinier!
5) Avoid brushing wet hair. This will cause the hair to stretch and finally break. Finger-dry, or use a wide-toothed comb instead of a brush to gently remove the knots.
6) Sleeping on a satin pillow case helps reduce knots and frizz.
7) Wash your hair the night before you need to do an up-hairdo, as it will won’t be as wild and fluffy the next day.
8) Put hair spray on a tissue and rub over your fly-aways to keep them down but not have that oily hairspray look.
9) Never rub hair dry after a shower - always pat and squeeze between a towel.
10) Never ever use rubber bands in your hair, it splits the hair.
11) If you're going out in the sun, dab some sunscreen into your parting - if you get sunburnt it's painful and when your scalp peels it looks like dandruff - not a good look!
12) Find a hairdresser that listens to what you want; a good cut makes a difference.
13) Brighten blonde hair and stop it appearing brassy by purchasing a specific blonding toner or shampoo. These products have purple undertones that counteract the yellow orange brassiness giving blondes a gorgeous natural platinum look.
14) Taking evening primrose oils - it is amazing for hair and it happens within weeks of starting to take the supplement. It even helps control oily hair!
15) If I want to naturally lighten my hair or bring out those subtle highlights I will spritz a little bit of lemon juice into my hair before going out to the beach or for a run.
