The gorgeous ladies from NZ rock group Ivy Lies are the ‘Eyes of Maybelline New York’ for this summer and have been rocking the hottest make-up looks during their summer touring schedule.  The band have been very busy of late and with their debut album ‘Little Mind Games’ hitting stores today (February 28), they are going to be very hot property on the NZ music scene!

And we were lucky enough to get an exclusive chat with band member Emla Palmer...

What does your daily beauty routine consist of?
I cleanse, tone, moisturise then I usually put on some powder foundation and eye makeup, lipgloss.

How do you look after your skin?
I use a good face cleanser and always moisturise. Moisturising is the key.

What is your favourite on-stage make-up look when you are performing?
Would have to be the cat eye look that consists of black eye shadow with shimmer, black eye liner and RED lipstick.

What latest make-up look are you most looking forward to trying out?
I love the new pastel lip colours and Maybelline New York’s Colorama Smoothies nail polishes. So I am keen to try these out, they would be great for summer. Cool bright colours.

What is your must-have beauty item and why?
Would have to be a lip colour. I love lip colours because you can always have that fresh look with a nice lipstick and its fun wearing all kinds of different colours.

What do you think makes a woman beautiful?
Confidence shows beauty.

What is your number one beauty tip?
Would have to be to blend - always take your time to blend your eye shadows to give that smooth matte look.

What is your favourite Maybelline New York product and why?
Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Gel Liner. I always wear eyeliner and most eyeliners I have used by the end of the day smudge and smear down my face but this one stays in place. So definitely the eyeliner.

What do you like most about the Maybelline New York brand?
Every product you would need is available and what it says it does on the packaging really does work.
