Je t’aime’s Beauty Loves
Evolu Facial Serum, RRP: $59
This heavenly serum is a sheer delight to use. Sheer because you simply need a few drops – about three is good, rubbed across the palms and then pressed into the skin. The delight comes from the real vanilla oil scent and the fact that in the morning your skin feels soft and hydrated – not sticky and oily. It also contains vitamins A, C, and E (Rosehip Oil, Jojoba oil, Rose Absolute and Neroli essential oils) to scavenge free radicals and assist the process of skin regeneration as well as omega-6 fatty acids (Evening Primrose Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil) to reinforce cell membranes. A keeper.
Giovanni Shine of the Times Finishing Mist, RRP: $25.50
It seems that no matter what I do – my hair is dull, dry and frazzled. This super light mist leaves your
hair with a subtle gloss but not weighed down or greasy. It also contains a natural cinnamon derived sunscreen which is super cool. You only need one spritz so this product will last for ages!
Ecoya Candle, RRP: $49.95
I LOVE candles. In fact, I have a tendency to get carried away; I have them all over my desk, up my stairs, in the bedroom and in the lounge, some might think I’m establishing a shrine or something! Regardless, Ecoya are my new fave candles. As a big fan of natural products, Ecoya tick the right boxes. They are made from Soy or Palm wax rather than petroleum based paraffin – the scent as they burn is gorgeous and there's nothing nasty going into your lungs – or into our lovely planet.
Lancome Pop' n' Cheeks in Coral Flirt
Part of Aaron De Mey's Spring 2010 Makeup Collection, Ô My Rose, this truly divine compact is all about the retro styling of the ‘60s. The whole collection is fabulous and well worth a look, but this is my favourite piece. It’s so damn pretty it almost deserves to be put on a mantle-piece for all and sundry to see. But, when you wear it on your cheeks, the pearlescent coral with just a hint of gold really is so lovely, that it’s worth messing up your compact with your big soft brush and swirling this delicate colour over your cheeks.
Nimue Skin Care $192 and for nationwide stockists contact 0800 142 562
The other day I met a fresh-faced lass with a flawless complexion who told me that she used to have terrible acne. I was floored. Not only was her skin 'canvas perfect' she also had no scars. She kept on raving about how her skin turned around after using the Nimue product range, so of course I wanted to try some! Nimue is aimed at enviromentally damaged skin, hyperpigmentation and problematic skin. I’m currently trying the environmentally damaged travel pack and so far so good. Like it!
Gracie’s Beauty Loves
M.A.C Strobe Cream
The ultimate quick fix for the skin. This super-cream de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a vitamin zap and a dose of green tea, it also helps to brighten and clarify with iridescent particles and antioxidants.
Semi Permanent Lashes
This is probably one of the best beauty boosts you can have. Imagine not having to use mascara or battle with falsies and yet still have incredible lashes? Well now you can. You can choose length, style and colour so you can channel that inner sex kitten or just look that teensy bit better than au naturale. I’m heading to see Lizzy at The Marr Lab next week to get mine done so pics to come.
The High Bun
Now may think it's an easy trend to pull off but you would be wrong, the high bun certainly isn't for the shy; such a severe style means all the attention is on your face, so flawless skin and confidence is a must. Like most of our favourite beauty (and fashion) trends, the high bun is a flexible style that can take you from day to night. Better still, it solves the “I don’t have time to wash my hair” crisis so up it goes and makes me feel like a ballerina… such a repressed childhood dream.
Victor & Rolf Flowerbomb
An oldie but a goodie, Flowerbomb was the debut fragrance from Amsterdam-based design team Viktor & Rolf. It was designed to evoke an explosion of flowers but it really starts with lots of sugar candy and a dash of citrus and settles into a sweet vanilla mixed with amber and patchouli - it’s my all time favourite! Flowerbomb has also just been released in a mini size, perfect for the handbag but sadly they’re not available in New Zealand as yet so I ordered mine online.
O.P.I Mad as a Hatter nail polish
To help celebrate the launch of the new Alice in Wonderland movie, O.P.I has brought out a limited edition Alice in Wonderland collection which features four different shades. I have always had a love/hate relationship with glitter but Mad as a Hatter has seen the love re-kindle. It is one madly marvellous black glitter party captured in a bottle and I’m obsessed.
Julie’s Beauty Loves
M.A.C. brow fix
I adore this product and wonder how I lived without it – no more p^&*ing round with hairspray, vaseline etc. LOVE the brush applicator which effectively means you are grooming as you are ‘fixing.’ Clear, so even better with a little brow colour used underneath.
M.A.C. Studio Moisture Tint
The day I first wore this I noticed on the way to work (ok, in the rearview mirror) that my skin was looking h-o-t and my colleagues were quick to comment too. This is like a tinted moisturiser in that it moistens, but has so
much better coverage than anything else I’ve tried. Magically, it’s light yet complexion-perfecting.
essie nail varnish in ‘Angora Cardi’
I’m having an Emma Gleason moment – I can’t stop admiring my own toenails! Angora Cardi is from essie’s “cuddle with colour’ fall/winter collection which also offers snuggly shades like Chinchilly (so-on-trend greige) and Mink Muffs (a milky chocolate) as well as a couple of cheery fluoro shades reminiscent of your winter raingear. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a nail colour collection that was so right for the season. RRP$23.90
YSL Mascara Singulier
I feel like I have betrayed my lover – I’ve spurned a longtime favourite brand in favour of this SENSATIONAL mascara. The formulation is easy to apply and never clumps, but I suspect it might be the big fat cleverly designed brush that is the magic weapon. Never have so many of my lashes been so – ahem - lasciviously coated. This is more than a passing fling. RRP: $61
Cath’s Beauty Loves
MAC Strobe Liquid
Great to use as a primer because the pearly shimmer gives you a nice little glow underneath your foundation. Because of its pearlescent quality, it can also be used as a highlighter on cheekbones after you’ve applied your foundation. And you only need a tiny bit; just one pump will cover your entire face – a good investment. Love it.
Clinique High Lengths Mascara
The unique thing about Clinique High Lengths mascara is the high-tech brush. Gone are the days of your standard mascara wand... this one is curved, flexible and has rows of short teeth. And it delivers. The flexibility and unique shape of the wand allows you to really deliver the mascara to every lash.
Burt Bees Lip Balm
Love this lip balm. It’s non-greasy while still being moisturising... makes my lips feel soothed and healthy.

Brilliant I had no idea you were not supposed to put your face under the shower head I have to get...
