Marc Jacobs sent his spring/summer 11 models down the catwalk with eyes that were deep and strong; forest green eye shadow was washed over the entire lid. While at Chanel, khaki tones were blended with grey to create a dramatic smokey effect.
When trying this trend, it's important to keep the rest of your makeup relatively simple. Perfect skin is key. Start with a good foundation base, apply a sweep of highlighter over your cheek bones and opt for a nude, glossy lip.
For a dark and intense look, rim the eye with black eyeliner and blend your khaki eye shadow into this.
For a lighter or daytime option, use the khaki shadow to line your eye, and then blend it out with a gold tone. Dabbing a spot of gold into the inside corners of the eyes will open them up and make them appear brighter.
Oh and just FYI, if you are wanting to take the khaki trend seriously, you need to get your hands on the new limited edition Les Khakis De Chanel nail polish collection. So so pretty.
