Well isn’t this weather all a bit dismal, here we were thinking that everything was brightening up and then we get a week of rain… Still summer is on its way and with longer nights and daylight saving all is good!

Thanks to everyone that came back to me with your ideas on what you would like to see in my blogs. I will have lots of share with you! Many of you came back with requests to talk about skin issues and specific products that I have that will help, so I will make a point of including product info for you.

As summer is on its way and lots of you mentioned sunscreen I thought that it was a good one to start with.

I know I bang on about sunscreen on a regular basis but it really is important to protect our skin and it really is the first step in anti-ageing. There is sooo much you can read about sunscreens and SPF and UVA & UVB. Most sunscreens protect against UVB, which is what causes sunburn. However UVA is what causes the invisible damage; a couple of examples of this would be skin ageing and melanoma.

Here are a couple of quick points about UVA & UVB

UVB
-Considered the burning ray
-It is carcinogenic, how? Damages our DNA
-It significantly decreases antioxidants in the skin
-It impairs the skin’s ability to protect itself from free radicals generated by sun exposure

UVA
-Longest reaching, deepest reaching
-Considered the “Aging Ray”
-Now considered the “Cancer Ray”
-Impairs the skin’s immune system
-Like UVB; can cause damage to the DNA
-It penetrates glass (including car windows)

So bearing all that in mind what do I recommend? The Celazome range of sunscreen without doubt! But to keep this to a length that you want to read I am going to tell you about them next week …
