Charles Porlier, lead makeup artist on the latest film - Eclipse, has just revealed that Dermalogica is the exclusive skincare brand he relied on to keep the actors skin fresh without causing skin irritation or jeopardizing makeup application.

The popular Clearing Skin Wash was used on every cast member. Most are in their acne-prone years so this kept their breakouts at bay. The next step was a quick spritz of Soothing Protection Spray over their face and neck to eliminate travel-induced dehydration.

Active Moist was Porlier’s top pick for then hydrating the skin without leaving a greasy film behind. He found it particularly useful on cast members playing vampires because their skin needed to look naturally chalky.

Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner used the Post-Shave Balm. It not only moisturizes and soothes irritated skin, but it also provides a smooth, non-greasy finish, very important for the lads!

To prep the gorgeous bodies of the actors for heavy makeup, including the abs of Lautner, Porlier then generously applied Body Hydrating Cream, what a tough job!

To remove the cast’s caked on Vampire makeup, PreCleanse was the daily weapon, removing every last ghost-like layer from their pores. It works by liquefying sebum and oil-based debris from the skin’s surface.

Ultra Calming Cleanser on a warm, moist towel was then handed to all cast members who were in a hurry to leave the set. This removed all traces of makeup on the go. This non-foaming cleanser contains lavender to soothe, coneflower to calm, and cucumber to cool irritation.
