Taking Care Of Your Nails

Nails are such an easy thing to let go – especially if you have a busy lifestyle, but I simply cannot stress enough the importance of taking care of your talons. Let’s put things in perspective, un-groomed nails are the equivalent of a cake without icing, seriously! Nice nails show you care – and truly, what is the point of having your hair cut and coloured, buying nice clothes and wearing makeup if you are going to ruin it all with horrible nails?

Now I am not talking weekly visits to the manicurist or 1.5cm scratchers – who has time for that kind of carry on? Even if you simply buff them once a week and add a coat of clear it is going to make the world of difference. Shape and polish treatments are available at most nail bars for between $15 and $25 dollars so why not treat yourself once a month – having your nails professionally shaped will make home maintenance a whole lot easier, and your nails will stay nicer, for longer.

Splash out in the colour department. Nail polish is one of the hottest trends in the beauty world right now, so why not try something different. Right now I love anything matte and I’m desperately trying to get my hands on the Chanel nail varnish in Particulière, which is a must have, as most of the company's runway polishes are (remember The Jade?).

Whore hands (excuse my French), or chipped nails are not hot, and totally unnecessary. It is better to have bare nails than ratty ones, so keep a small bottle of polish remover close at all times to remove disintegrating nail colour!

Being well groomed is totally underrated – start in the nail department, try it for a month and trust me, you will be reformed!
