Sleek is so last week, so what’s the new ‘do’ that everyone loves? The Quiff…

It’s all about va-va-volume which means a teasing comb and plenty of hairspray. The quiff has proved to be an all ages and all occasions look that even the First Lady is rocking.

How to:
•Blow-dry your hair straight or into very loose long waves.
•Take out the front section of your hair across your forehead from temple to temple, about 6cm deep. It does not matter if you have a fringe as this can be incorporated into the look, but you may need to take the section slightly deeper if you do. Clip it out of the way for now.
•Tie the sides of your hair into a ponytail or bun so it’s back off your face.
•Now take the top section and backcomb to high heaven to give lots of support to the quiff. Hairspray is the key to creating this look, spray it onto each section as you backcomb to give extra hold.
•Once you resemble someone who's just been given an electric shock, take a paddle brush and smooth the outer surface of this section, drawing back to the crown but leaving it looped forwards enough to form the quiff. The trick here is not to untangle the backcombed hair underneath so it remains as a ‘support’ for the style.
•Pin or wrap the ends of the hair around the hair already tied back then smooth and fix your quiff into the desired look using hairspray.
