Beautybible chats to Cybèle about why she signed up for the Juicy Design For A Cure campaign and of course, all things beauty.

This is your debut to the Juicy Design For A Cure campaign, what made you chose to come on board and support the BCRT?
I was excited to be invited to be involved. I have been a long time supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Trust Fund. I really admire the work the Trust is doing, their targets and goals are ambitious and the cause is close to my heart. I love the opportunity to be involved in a creative project and to assist where I can in such an important cause.

Who or what has inspired your gorgeous floral scarf design?
The design for my scarf is a development from my upcoming "New Clear Woman" collection for Summer 2010/11. I have been working with the Orchid motif in print and 3D detailing. Lilac is also a colour I really love at the moment.

What is one important message would you like to give women regarding their beauty and well-being?
Be kind to your body! Sleep, a healthy diet and lifestyle have to be the foundation for your beauty and well-being.

What is your must-have beauty product?
Lip gloss!

What do you think defines someone’s beauty?
For me a person’s beauty is in their presence, composure, confidence and grace.

If you could give one beauty tip or piece of advice, what would it be?
To mis-quote theologian Reinhold Niebuhr:
Accept the things you cannot change, change the things you can and have wisdom to know the difference.

What in your opinion is the must-have piece from your upcoming spring/summer collection?
I am really excited about our new fine jewellery, including rings, necklaces and studs featuring clusters and single orchid flowers cast in silver and set with black sapphires. The orchid flower taken from my print is a beautiful form in 3 dimentions.

What would be your number one fashion tip for NZ women?
My fashion tip is Ignore Tips! Breaking the rules once in a while is fun and that’s what fashion should be.

What is one important lesson you have learnt from your time in the fashion industry?
One thing I have learnt is to stay true to myself and not to become lost or distracted by who anyone else thinks I should be.

Who or what keeps you motivated?
I am motivated by the challenge and the fast pace of the fashion industry. There is just no time to be unmotivated!
