The feeling for this collection was inspired by American college fraternities and sororities.
The women’s hair needed to capture the freedom of college life, so the brief from show stylist Rachael Churchward was a simple, disheveled look that animated the essence of the collection.
Greg Murrell and his team from Ryder Salon brought this vision to life by straightening hair very loosely with a flat iron, to keep texture and natural movement.
Next, they placed about 8 hair pins in a vertical row at the nape of the neck, to create a soft ponytail effect without being too tightly controlled.
Gorgeous fabric bows were then attached at the nape, followed by a liberal spray of KMS California Dry Spray Wax for a flexible, matt hold. To finish, pieces of hair were loosened from the pins to create a natural flyaway texture before using KMS California Hair-Stay for extra hold, as the show was held out doors.
