Matte Loving

Recently, I have been hearing and reading lots about the statement trend that is matte lipstick. It was all over the red carpet at this year’s Emmys. And thanks to Nars, you can get this mega-hit  lip look with the release of their Pure Matte Lipstick collection

The six, long-wear lippies may have a matte finish, but the shades are far from dull with bold, juicy colors that include a deep plum, bright red, and of course, a perfect nude.

So why are these lippies getting so much love? Well...

The colour stays put. Unlike super shiny lip colours which tend to stray before you’ve even stepped out the door, these lippies hold on tight, and the colour won’t fade. So that means you get intense, vibrant colour, but without the need for constant touch ups.

They don’t dry out your lips. And this is a very, very, big thing, (especially for someone like me who finds most lipsticks end up flaking on my dry lips) as matte lipstick is known for drying out. But these puppies contain vitamin E, wild mango butter and acai oil, which are all lovely at nourishing and conditioning the lips.

They never look cakey: The formula is just so rich and creamy that there’s no dragging and the colour also doesn’t refuse to actually stick onto your lips.

RRP: $69.90 and you can buy online here.
