L’Oréal Paris welcomes actor Gerard Butler as its new worldwide spokesperson for the Men Expert line, excluding the United States. He represents the Hydra Energetic line - the number one selling men’s skincare in many countries with more than 23 million products sold every year worldwide.

“I’m excited to be working with L’Oréal Paris.  I have always liked the quality and innovation of their products,” says Gerard Butler.

“With his charisma, confidence and modern style, Gerard Butler perfectly embodies the spirit of the Men Expert line,” says Vianney Derville, international general manager of L’Oréal Paris.

“A talented actor, he has enjoyed a string of successes on the silver screen and is renowned for his professionalism. Gerard is just so easy to relate to – his charmingly authentic, natural air will win him the respect of consumers who can't help seeing themselves in the actor. I am delighted to welcome Gerard as a L’Oréal Paris spokesperson!”

Born in Scotland, Gerard Butler made his theatre début at the age of 12.  After seven years studying law, Gerard returned to his true passion, the theatre. In 1996, he won the lead role in the theatre adaptation of Trainspotting and went on to tread the boards in a number of other productions.

In 1997 he appeared on the big screen for the first time in John Madden's drama Her Majesty, Mrs Brown.

Gerard Butler went on to appear in a number of films, with notable examples including Timeline, Tomb Raider 2, Dear Frankie and Phantom of the Opera, but his career truly sky-rocketed thanks to the role of King Leonidas in Zack Snyder's blockbuster 300.

Since then, notable roles have included appearing alongside Hilary Swank in the drama P.S. I Love You, and in Guy Ritchie's RocknRolla.

Gerard Butler recently starred alongside Katherine Heigl in Robert Luketic's romantic comedy The Ugly Truth. He also starred in the thriller Gamer and alongside Jamie Fox in Law Abiding Citizens. Gerard also voiced the lead role of Stoick in the hugely successful animated film How to Train Your Dragon.
He will soon be appearing under the direction of Ralph Fiennes in the film Coriolanus, and in Marc Forster's Machine Gun Preacher.

Gerard Butler replaces Matthew Fox as the face of Men Expert’s Hydra Energetic range.
