The Beauty Bible guide to looking good while your travelling… and what to pack, when you are limited to 100ml and can’t take your entire beauty bag. To make sure you don’t get caught out this summer BB have put together our top list of travel sized beauty products that will keep you looking and feeling your best no matter how long your flight, and remember all carry on products need to be in a clear zip lock bag.

Dermalogica Antioxidant HydraMist: A refreshing antioxidant shield with flash-firming properties to improve skin texture while intensely hydrating dry, dehydrated skin caused by air con environments. The Hyaluronic Acid acts as a hydration magnet to quench dehydrated skin while Pea Extract creates instant firming action to lift and tighten and Rose and Clove extracts comfort and refresh skin.

Elizabeth Arden 8-Hour Cream: Much loved for its beauty flexibility and practicality, this product was developed in 1930 and got its name after the apricot coloured balm treated a child’s skinned knee in just eight hours. This multi-purpose cream should be in every woman’s handbag and is ideal for travelling. It can be used to: alleviate dry skin, as a gloss for lips, highlight eyelids, to soothe skin post waxing, after shaving or waxing, tame unruly brows, soften rough cuticles, as an antidote for dry feet and as an in-flight moisture booster.
Here are a few top tips to surviving a long haul flight:
Wear loose fitting clothes like track pants and tee shirts.Don’t wear jeans, these are restrictive and make it hard to sleep and relax.
Wear flat comfortable shoes.Your feet will swell at high altitude, so you need a pair of shoes that you can easily take off and put back on at the end of the flight. There’s nothing worse than trying to stuff swollen feet back into your shoes - it doesn’t look very sexy and you will just end up chipping that new pedicure.
Wear flight socks! Although they don’t look the best they are a fabulous idea for keeping your feet warm and they also help prevent deep vein thrombosis. Give me unfashionable for a few hours over DVT anytime!
If you have long hair take a hair tie so you can tie it up if need be. Remember after sleeping in a confined area your hair will be sticking out all over the place.
Don’t wear heavy makeup - no night club looks please, you will only end up with raccoon eyes and lipstick that has bled by the end of the flight.
Get hydrated well in advance of your long haul flight by drinking lots of water a few days before your trip.
Drink lots of water on the plane and avoid coffee and tea which are diuretic – that is, they dehydrate you and also make you pee a lot, which is seriously annoying for your fellow passengers.
Get out of your seat and walk around the plane regularly to prevent DVT and keep your circulation pumping.
Take note of the in-flight exercises and make sure you do them. Even young people can get DVT (you could be at risk if you are on the pill, are overweight or have recently undergone surgery).
