Summer 2011 is going to be all about bright eyes and Nina Ricci showed this trend off in utter perfection. I love how makeup artist Pat McGrath mixed fuchsia and deep red powder eyeshadows together to create a highly pigmented hue of pink that is not as severe as plain red, and not as dainty as blush pink.
How to:
To get the Nina Ricci look, find a deep fuchsia matte powder eyeshadow (I love MAC Eyeshadow in Louder, Please) and use it to blend onto the entire eyelid from lashes to brow bone, with a little bit lining the lower lash line.
Finish the look off with a coat of black mascara and black eyeliner on the inner rims.
For the runway, the models' eyebrows were bleached so that the eyes stood out more, but in reality, it may be a better idea to skip this step and go natural.
The end result is like a classic smoky eye, but more tropical. Did I mention perfection already?
