Feeling sexy is of course this is something that comes from within… but there’s a little you can do to feel sexier on the surface. Before you get out your best lacy lovelies and push up bra let’s look at how to feel sexier as dictated by the summary of sexiness… The Victoria’s Secret girls.
The BODY
Fake tan. We’re not saying that pale skin isn’t hot – if yours is creamy perfect a la Dita Von Teese then leave it as is, but for most of us – leg veins, cellulite, scars and uneven skin tone means we feel a lot sexier with the coverage of a faux tan. Of course the best faux tan is preceded by your choice of hair removal and a good body scrub.
We love: Dr LeWinn’s Sunless Self Tanning Lotion RRP: $37.90 for a lasting result and
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs RRP: $25 is great for covering any unwanted marks. Simply spray on this instant tan and it washes off in the shower.
The Little DETAILS
Clean, tidy, polished nails go a long way to enhancing your top to toe appearance. They don’t have to be long, painted talons – short, slightly square and buffed is just right. Nice nails show that you care about your appearance and want to make a good impression.
We Love: Sally Hansen Color Quick Fast Dry Nail Color Pen, RRP: $18.99 Just click, paint and go – seriously it dries in about one minute, which is perfect, because looking good shouldn’t have to be time consuming! Hot Pink and Red are sexy as heck for nails and Orange is just gorgeous on toes.
The MAKEUP
Makeup should not be OTT – but rather, fairly natural but seriously defined. Think: a luscious pout, long loooong lashes, perfectly groomed brows, pink cheeks and sophisticated eyes… taupes, neutral browns and dove greys allow definition without being overpowering.
Here’s How:
The eye - Contour the eye in the natural curve of the eyelid and along the upper and lower lashline. Use a lighter shade – such as ivory, to highlight under the arch of the brow and highli
ght the inner corner of the eye. This will give the effect of making those peepers larger than life.
Top off with individual lashes or a line of faux lashes and then apply lashings of mascara. We love: Maybelline Lash Stiletto Mascara, RRP: $24.99 or L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara, RRP: $33.99
For the lips – the trick is to make them look like your natural colour but better – think a fleshy pink sheer lipstick topped off with a gloss that is designed to give a plump look. If you want to fake fuller lips apply an outline of lip-liner just outside the natural lip-line. Try: Clarins Joli Rouge Brillant Perfect Shine Sheer Lipsticks, RRP: $51. Top with L’Oreal Glam Shine 6H for a high impact lip look, RRP: $29.99
Bronzer – to contour the face, this adds a completely professional but oh-so-subtle definition. Contouring is a make-up artist’s trick to glamour and you can bet the Victoria’s Secret girls get their face and body contoured pre-show. We Love: Covergirl TruBlend Microminerals Bronzer, RRP: $ 25.99. Start off with one of our all-time favourite foundations and the result will be truly airbrushed! Try: Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse for a finish that will leave you photo ready, RRP: $34.49.
The HAIR
Sexy hair is BIG sexy 70s style hair. You want the hair to be full of body and natural swing. It should bounce and ‘swish’ when you strut your stuff.
How to get it:
When your hair is wet apply a volumising mousse – paying particular attention to the roots. If your hair is very thin, apply a dab of thickener as well and put this through the mid lengths to ends to give the hair a boost.
Blow-dry the hair roughly.
Gently comb out any knots or tangles.
Apply a dash of heat protectant spritz.
Section the hair and grab a section at about an inch thick, then using either a curling iron or hot rollers curl the hair moving in the direction away from the face – this will give you that slightly ‘70s wind-blown look.
After you have curled each section, let the hair fall out, shake out the curls running the fingers through them gently to separate a little, then spray with a hairspray to hold the curl and a light spritz of shine mist if your hair is dry.

We Love: Sebastian Penetraitt Shampoo and Conditioner RRP: $36 and $38; Redken Thickening Lotion o6, RRP: $, Sebastian Whipped Crème Style Whip RRP: $40; Sebastian Trilliant (a heat and UV protectant with a shimmer in it) RRP: $40; Fudge Root Juice RRP: $25 ; Tresemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray, RRP: $8.90
You’re done, now you can put your lacy lingerie on, don a pair of heels and a smile and feel gorgeous.

I got this for my boyfriend - he has very sensitive skin. He wasn't too keen on the way it looks...
