It feels like we have been waiting forever to this collection to arrive in New Zealand! Lancôme’s Spring 2009 collection is one dear to all of us, as it is designed by New Zealander Aaron De Mey – Lancôme’s new Artistic Director – what a very clever Kiwi boy!

The collection is called Pink Irreverence and concentrates on two main colours - pure fuchsia (aka Beauty Bible pink) and sparkling, sequined black inspired by the black sands of Piha beach.

Launched at Whitecliffe College (where Aaron studied) last night, this collection is HOT and one of Lancôme’s very best – just fills your heart with pride doesn’t it?

There is not a piece in this collection that I have not fallen in love with – but here are my picks:

Punk Punk and Black Palette

Meet the ‘pink smoky eye’ -three matte pinks and the sparking Piha Black shadow make this a versatile palette that will create many different looks. RRP:$80.00

Laque Liners

You would be hard pressed to find a liquid liner that is blacker that this one. Perfect for creating this season’s liquid liner look (check out our guide to doing it here) the Laque Liner in Pure Black is a makeup bag must-have. Also love the Laque Liner in Piha Sparkle – a shimmering white liquid liner that looks fab on its own, or applied over the top of the black liner to illuminate the eyes. RRP$66.00

Piha Black

I won’t be wearing the gloss on my lips – but if you can pull if off then go for it as it really is gorgeous. I will be wearing it on my eyes however over the Piha Black eyeshadow. HINT: on the lips, wear a small amount over red or pink lipstick. RRP:$51.00

Laque Fever gloss in Pink My Ride

Ultra-shine gloss in pure fuchsia - a colour that looked good on everyone who tried it on – unofficially giving it the ‘Lip Gloss of the Year’ award. RRP:$60.00
