They say the show must go on, and the time has arrived for a new season of drama, boys, fashion and of course, beauty. Like Blair's minions, we are so excited to once again see and imitate the looks of New York socialites Blair Waldorf and Serena Van Der Woodsen.
To get Miss Blair's polished and chic look, start with a soft-matte foundation like Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15. To achieve porcelain skin like B, always wear a sunscreen or a foundation with an SPF.
Queen Bee’s statement eye makeup is the brown smokey eye. Use an eye shadow palette with brown shades like Revlon CustomEyes Shadow in Naturally Glamorous. Start with a medium brown over the entire lid, working up to both ends of your eyebrow. With an eye shadow brush, apply the darkest brown on the outer corner of your eyelid to the centre of your eye in a windshield motion. Follow your natural eye shape by gently pushing your brush into the skin and tracing your eyeball from the outside. Using the lightest shade similar to champagne, highlight just under the brow bone. Make sure all the colours are well blended before lining eyes with dark brown pencil eyeliner and finishing with black mascara.
We want what we can't have. And in this case, it is Blair's defined cheekbones. Use a blush with a light and natural peachy-brown undertone such as MAC powder blush in Buff, which is a soft-muted peach. With a large blush brush, sweep onto the apples of your cheeks in a circular motion before blending towards the temples.
For the lips, use a dusty rose lip colour such as cult-favourite Nars lipstick in Dolce Vita and finish with a sheer gloss.
Using a curling iron, create soft waves outwards from your face. Try Redken Soft Spin Gel to keep curls in place, which is lightweight and crunch-free. Complete the preppy look with a large bow headband.
For “it” girl Serena’s barefaced and effortlessly gorgeous look, start with Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Light Reflecting Foundation SPF 10 for a youthful glow. To achieve bronzed cheeks like you’ve been holidaying in the Hamptons, try Elizabeth Arden Pure Mineral Finish Cheek Colour in Sunkissed Coral.
For the eyes, use a coppery orange palette such as Lancome Color Design Eye Shadow Quad in Heat Wave. Use the copper in the inner eye area, blend out to the end of your eyebrow with the peach and highlight under the brow bone with the beige. Because S has smaller eyes, she normally lines the lower waterline with white eyeliner and applies a silvery white shadow to the inner corners of her eyes. Use brown pencil eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line, and finish with lashings of black mascara.
For kissable lips to steal the hearts of lonely boy and pretty boy Nate, use a bubblegum pink colour like Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Aventure. This lipstick glides on easily and has a shiny finish so you can skip the lipgloss and have more fun time being a blonde.
Serena’s signature hairstyle is the tousled loose waves. In this case, the messier, the better. After using a curling iron, brush out and scrunch the waves with your fingers.
