Unless you’re a gym junkie, the thought of exercising can sometimes be enough to make you want to crawl back into bed or flop on the couch with a block of chocolate. So instead of spending your hard earned cash on some ‘as seen on tv’ contraption that you’ll only use once or twice, try doing something you actually enjoy. When you’re having a good time while you’re being active, the regular-exercise part will just kind of happen without you having to dread doing it.
Belly Dancing:
Working out that belly, a class where curves are truly appreciated (as they should be!), and where you can express your sensuality and rhythmic movement. And, so what is the overall benefit? Not only will you have abs of steel but you can surprise your partner and practice your belly dancing techniques with him as the solo audience member!
Boxing:
Boxing is a workout guaranteed to keep you dripping in sweat. Experienced trainers will show you all the right techniques and then let you really get into it punching the bags, maybe even getting into the ring, releasing all those pent up frustrations of the day. You’ll find boxing gives you a fantastic cardio workout along with developing toning and strength, especially for those arms and upper body.
Nintendo Wii:
Wii Sports, which comes bundled with the Wii, lets you play virtual tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, and boxing, providing a light in-home workout. All five games require upper-body strength and coordination, and the virtual boxing matches can get your heart pumping pretty fast. Or you can go all out with Wii Fit, which comes with a balance board and features more than 40 activities and exercises, including strength training, aerobics, yoga, and balance games, specifically designed to get you in shape.
Surfing:
Cameron Diaz loves to take to the waves for a surfing workout that's also a cardio blast. With spring and summer fast approaching (so I like to think), rent a surfboard and try your hand at hanging ten for an outdoor workout which will improve your biceps, triceps, calves and core muscles.
Trampolining:
Aside from giving happy childhood flashbacks, trampolining is a great fat burner. “Rebounding” (straight bouncing) is low-impact on knees and joints, so it’s good for people who are overweight or have joint problems, and it’s a full-body cardio workout – as fan Reese Witherspoon can testify. Basic tricks are relatively easy to learn and trampolining promotes “cellular fitness”, improves bone density and stimulates the lymphatic system (goodbye cellulite).
Pole Dancing:
Pole Dancing tones up the whole body giving definition to the arms, thighs, abs and shoulders. Plus it improves your confidence, self - esteem, body awareness and body shape, what is not to love about that?
