Tommy Hilfiger targets a whole generation with the launch of LOUD for her and for him. The campaign features models Daisy Lowe and Josh Beech, and The Ting Tings. The band wrote and recorded the song “We’re Not the Same,” exclusively for the fragrance campaign. And Beauty Bible was lucky enough to get the low down on these amazing new fragrances from Daisy Lowe herself.
Q. How did you feel when you were approached to be part of the LOUD campaign? A. I was really excited to be chosen. I think LOUD is such an amazing concept. To have a fragrance and mix music into the concept is really styling. It’s just a huge honor.
Q. How is shooting a fragrance campaign different from modeling for a fashion campaign? A. There is a lot more expected of you when you’re doing a fragrance. I think that there’s a whole psyche behind the fragrance. Everyone wants to be the girl in the ad. So it’s so much pressure – but really amazing.
Q. How does it feel sharing the spotlight with Josh Beech? A. It’s absolutely amazing to share the spotlight with Josh Beech. I’ve known him for a while. We met doing another shoot and we always have such a laugh when we work together. It was a little bit difficult not to laugh while on the set, but I’m sure loads of teenage girls will be really jealous that I get to jump around with him.
Q. Was the shoot difficult with so many elements? A. It was just loads and loads of fun jumping around. I love the tape bit. I felt a bit sorry for Josh, though, because his tape was much stronger than mine, so he had a lot more of a red mouth than I did. It was really, really fun. Such a great day!
Q. What was the highlight of the shoot for you? A. The jumping around and being crazy. I’m in a band and that’s how I am anyway. I’m this crazy jumping around person. So when I get to do that for a job, it’s pretty cool.
Q. How was it working with the Ting Tings? A. They’re great. I think the new song is amazing. It’s fun to jump around to.
Q. What do you think about the LOUD fragrances? A. I love the smell of patchouli, so I think it’s awesome. It’s definitely different then anything else I’ve smelled from Tommy. I think it’s going to really do well.
Q. What does LOUD mean to you? A. LOUD to me means getting it all out and going absolutely crazy because it’s just like a release of built up emotion. It’s how Generation Y is heard, by really getting our emotions out there – be it joy, anger, frustration, all of it. I think it’s a really great name.
Q. What was your first introduction to Tommy Hilfiger? A. My best friend had this amazing hoodie that was Tommy and it was just, the most comfortable thing. I stole it. And I still have it.
Q. Whose fashion style do you emulate? A. I love Alexa Chung’s style because she always looks so effortlessly amazing. Everything’s just thrown together so beautifully. But it helps when you’re that hot, too.
Q. How would you define your style? A. I like to be comfortable and I change my style up all the time. I like playing different roles in what I wear. One day, I’ll dress up as a doll, or a grungy kid, or like a pirate, or a sailor.
Q. Give us Daisy 360 degrees. A. In my free time I love being with my dog. I’ve got a little Maltese and I love just running around with him and taking him for four-hour runs and walks. I love cooking. I’ve set up my house so that it just turns into a giant commune. Whenever I get home after traveling for ages, I just have 20 people over and cook for everyone. I do it every night until I’m really exhausted. Once that’s out of my system, I just love dancing around and singing on my own. I love being alone and just putting on music and singing really loudly. It doesn’t matter if it’s out of tune – no one can hear me. I like to shop, too. I like going to markets. I love going to all the amazing vintage fairs, like the Bath Vintage Fair and Portobello Market always. There’s an amazing shop called Relic that’s all vintage stuff, which is really awesome. And Selfridges is always really good.
Q. What makes you LOUD? A. I get LOUD when I’m really excited and I haven’t been home for a while. When I get to see all my good friends I get really LOUD. You have to be LOUD to be heard.
