Ever heard an outrageous claim about a beauty product or treatment? Yep, me too. So below Beauty Bible clears up some of the most common beauty myths.
1. Brush your hair with 100 strokes before bed for shiny, healthy hair.
False! You should only brush your hair as much as you need to in order to get rid of tangles. Over-brushing can over-dry your hair, and give it static - not pretty!
2. Dry skin will give you wrinkles.
False! Dry skin will only give you… dry skin.
3. Shaving will make your hair grow back thicker and quicker.
False! Shaving your legs or any other body part for that matter will not make your hair grow back any thicker or darker. When you shave, you’re cutting the hair off above the skin, not pulling it out from, or damaging, the follicle.
4. Toothpaste can cure acne.
True! Ingredients found in toothpaste have been shown to lessen and get rid of acne. But use it sparingly as there are also harsh chemicals in toothpaste which can over-dry and irritate your skin!
5. A beer rinse in the shower will give you thicker hair.
True! Using room-temperature beer as a final rinse will make your hair thicker until the next time you wash it.However it will also leave you smelling like a pub!
6. Pulling out one grey hair will give you ten more.
False! Plucking the hair from one follicle has no effect on nearby follicles.
7. Chocolate can give you acne.
False! Unless you’re allergic to chocolate, it will not promote acne blemishes or any other skin problems.
8. Never tweeze above the brow.
False! Please, please, pluck below and above your brows to avoid walking around with messy brows (my pet hate!). Better yet, pay a professional like the amazing girls at OFF Wax to tweeze or wax your brows then use the "map" they set to upkeep your brows for a few weeks before heading back.
9. Cucumbers will help de-puff your eyes.
True and False! The truth is that anything cold (from cucumbers to towels) will de-puff your eyes. Coldness restricts blood vessels which reduces swelling and puffing.
10. It’s bad to wash your hair every day.
True! If your hair is dyed or treated, it may already be dried out, so washing it too often can worsen the condition. If you feel the need to refresh try a dry shampoo, I honestly don't know how I survived without the Fudge one.

These are really handy when you can't be bothered washing your face when you get home from town! They get all the makeup off and they're cheap.
