If your hair is dry, frazzled, lifeless and has had the living you-know-what dyed or styled out of it then look no further than our tried and tested guide to the best products to bring life to your locks…
Best for iron addicts: L’Oreal Force Vector Shampoo RRP$28.00
If you colour and heat style your hair then the elasticity and strength are lost as protein and lipid material diminishes. The new L’Oreal Force Vector addresses these issues by using Glycocell; L’Oreal Professionel’s Incell and Royal Jelly formula. The Royal Jelly provides the hair fibre with amino acids while the Incell consolidates the fibre. What does this all really mean to you and I? If you have fragile and brittle hair the Force Vector will restore the shine, softness and suppleness of your hair that you lose every time you run those hot irons through it.
Best for beach babes and sun lovers: Kerastase Soleil Bain Apres Soleil RRP $36
Sick of the hair colour fading after long lunches in the sunshine? Then get your hands on some of this stuff - it eliminates build up and reconstitutes the hair fibres surface and structure. Leaving it soft and supple and protected against UV rays.
We no longer think twice about applying sun-block on our face now we can do the same for our hair.
Guest review: I’m not one who usually has the time to use more than the normal shampoo and conditioner I have to say that this Gelee did make my scalp feel very hydrated and the ends of my hair lovely and soft and it only takes a couple of minutes.
Best for fine/flat haired gals: Kerastase Volumactive and Kerastase Resistance Bain
Volumactive RRP$36
Guest review: Having very fine hair is a constant struggle which has now been addressed with the introduction of this new Volumactive hair bath. My hair seems to be easier to manage and far less flyaway.
Kerastase Resitance Lai Volumintense RRP $44.00
Guest review: As a girl who just will NOT go without conditioner even though my hair is so fine and the constant taunt of my hairdresser saying “NO conditioner!!!” rings in my ears every time I apply it
I just can’t help it. This is so lightweight I have to stop myself from putting more on because I know just a little works just fine.
Best for a quick treat on dry hair: VO5 Hot Oil Moisture soak Elixir
Guest review: Infused with 5 different oils these little gems help to reconstruct even the most damaged hair. I would recommend using two ampules on shoulder length hair for the best results. Ladies let your locks SHINE.
Best for thinning hair: Kerastase Prevention GL Range

This range is designed to help prevent hair loss, stimulate growth and give hair more volume. The three step programme includes a shampoo, Bain Prevention GL (RRP: $36); Intervention Antichute A L'Aminexil GL - which is a long-winded tres Francais way of saying, a seasonal leave-in treatment to stiumlate hair growth and Soin Densitive GL (RRP: $42) which gives volume and density to thinning hair without weighing it down or making it sticky.
Best to boost coloured locks: Giovanni Colorflage
These natural shampoos and conditioners and proudly sulphate-free help to defend coloured hair from colour loss between colouring sessions as well as leaving the hair soft and luminous. They come in Boldly Black, Beautifully Blonde, Brazenly Brunette, Remarkably Red, Perfectly Platinum.
Best for a pre-party/special occasion boost: Kérastase Chroma Thermique Pixelist treatment
Think about it… if you want to boost your skin for a major event or party - you get a facial… well, now you can do the same with your hair. If you think it sounds like nonsense, think again – I am going to bravely post my before and after pics from a Kerastase Chroma Thermique Pixelist treatment from Oblique Hair Spa in Birkenhead. Yes, I think you will agree – the change in shine is so dramatic in the after shots it almost looks as if I have had a cut and colour. Now, just need a special occasion so I can justify going back!

At home, use Kerastase Chroma Thermique RRP: $42 on dry, damaged and dull hair to restore life, colour and vibrancy to your locks.
