Beauty Bible was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with Rebecca Prior who is the Chief of Makeup Services/International Makeup Artist for Napoleon Perdis. Gracie Stewart picked her brains...

How did you get started in makeup? I had just finished my Art degree and wondered "Now what?" I saw an ad for the Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy and I thought it would be a great way to put my artistic skill into a great career. I studied the Diploma at the flagship Academy in Paddington, little did I know that I would be teaching the classes myself one day and the rest took off from there.

What are your Creative Influences? A lot influences me when it comes to makeup, particularly art – whether it’s colour or shape or design, you’ll see something that triggers an idea that develops into something more.

Favourite Napoleon Perdis product? It depends on what day of the week it is because I have different favourites all the time – at the moment I love the Boudoir Mist Spray Foundation. I’m also never with out the Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer.

Favourite face feature? Strange as it sounds I really love skin. Working a flawless base that is fresh and natural is the fundamental to any great makeup look and it’s what all women aspire to achieve.

Favourite makeup look/trend? This changes a lot for me but I’m always excited by an avante garde look.

What is the key makeup trend for summer? It’s all about the Gilty Pleasures look, lots of bronze and gold. (check out the 'how to video' below)

Career highlight? Working backstage at the Emmy’s two years in a row, getting to travel across America to places like NY, San Francisco, Sacramento, Chicago, North & South Carolina, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Vegas, Dallas, Hawaii and Florida, and working on the reality TV show with Napoleon.

Your most exciting celebrity encounter? That would have to be Tom Hanks. He is so nice, genuine and talented.

BB editorial assistant Gracie Stewart also got her makeup done by Rebecca, here are a few snaps. It's hard to tell from the photos but she was rocking some seriously hot false lashes.
