A strong 1950’s reference was obvious at Andrea Moore, with the front of the hair swept up into smooth, voluminous victory rolls.
In stark contrast the back of the hair was an enormous puff of crimping, with plenty of volume at the crown. Again we saw a messy, slightly frizzy look to the hair.
Makeup also took a cue from the 50’s with a gorgeous, glossy crimson lip taking centre stage, and a winged liquid liner on the eyes. Skin was natural looking, slightly on the pale side with a pretty pale pink blush to give a hint of colour. Eyes had a hint of pale, icy eye shadow.
Hair
Sara Alssop, from Dharma Hair in Auckland, and her team created a juxtaposition of texture; with a controlled more structured shape through the front to a very “noisy” textured whimsical shape through the back.
“Hair that will have movement when the models are walking,” says Sara.
Sara was recently named the 2011 New Zealand Hairdresser of the Year, the ultimate recognition for any New Zealand hairdresser, as part of the Schwarzkopf Professional Hair Expo Hairdressing Awards.
