He’s an actor, musician and writer, and now Hugh Laurie can add spokesperson his belt with the announcement that he has been signed as the newest face and brand ambassador for L’Oreal Men Expert.
Best known and loved for his character in the series House, Hugh’s deadpan wit and humour have made him one of the most genuine, charming and endearing actors for millions of men and women.
“At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I realised that L’Oreal wasn’t looking for models but real people with strong personalities, who are worth it...and who aren’t afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision, after all” he says.
Hugh’s performance as the sharp-tongued anti-hero, House, has led to him being awarded two Golden Globes, two SAG awards, two Television Critics Association awards and a People’s Choice Award, but his talents don’t end there – he’s been acting in Britain and the US since 1982, has provided voice over for animated movies such as Monsters vs Aliens and Hop, and he’s a musician who is part of the charity cover band Band from TV. He has also released his first solo blues album, Let Them Talk, and not to mention he recently completed his debut novel, The Gun Seller. This year, he will head to Papua New Guinea to begin filming the adaptation of award-winning New Zealand writer Lloyd Jones’ novel, Mr Pip.
